Spirit Week

Tell what each of your days were for Spirit Week. How did you advertise it? Did you do anything to get more kids to dress up? How did it go? Post your comments here, and be sure to say your name and what school you are from!

Hi I'm Kathleen from Oxford Academy.
and for our first spirit week:
Monday - twin day (we figured give them something easy for the first day since it's right after the weekend and they may not remember)
Tuesday - opposite day (opposite of your personality. jock = nerd)
Wednesday - "ZoOxford" (dress up like an animal)
thursday - (RALLY DAY) crazy hair, makeup, hat [& you can add tie to this] day
Friday - video game day

we advertised through a commercial in the video announcements and also a flyer that was separated into the days with ideas of what to wear and also the lunch time activity.

We were going to do spirit points for the most participation by each class but it seemed to tedious for the teachers to count.

It was for the most part successful. The only trouble we had was that not many people knew what to do for animal day and videogame day because they did not think creatively.

hope this helps!

Hey it's Jenny from FPA again. For our homecoming/spirit week theme, we came up with MUSIC. Monday (freshman) - country day: KFC served, petting zoo, and everyone dressed up in plaid. Tuesday (sophomores GO 2011!) - hip hop day: make your own graffiti tee shirt, Carl's Jr. , "running man" inflatable, DDR games, our dean of administrations even dressed up as Flavor Flav! loll. Wednesday (juniors) - island/reggae day: make your own fresh flower leis, L&L bbq, "surfing" inflatables. Thursday (seniors) - rock day: served pick up stix, sold drumsticks and rockstars, guitar hero, rockband games. Every day we had a DJ that played music according to the day. It was really successful!
