Penny Wars! Each class gets a jar (we used those huge water dispenser jug things), and the rules goes: 1 penny = +1 spirit point for the class(or whatever) 1 nickel = -5 1 dime = -10 1 quarter = -25 bills = -(bill amount in cents) And any student from any class can contribute to any jar. We let this run for two weeks, got maybe $400 from our population of ~530? It's a great fundraiser. No cost, all profit. I forgot whether we split the money amongst class accounts according to how much each class's jar held, or gave it to the general ASB account. It's useful, if possible, to count every day, so you can post the updated results every day to keep people excited/motivated. It's a great event--gets everyone hyped up and competitive at no cost!
